IZUMONO-en is a café and museum complex located at the end of Shinmon Street, on the road to the famous Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane Prefecture.

The road to Izumo Taisha Shrine is called Shinmon Dori, and it's really nice here. It's a straight road lined with stylish shops and mysterious power stone shops.

These shops have a sense of unity, which is just divine. It's wonderful.

The city of Izumo and local residents have successfully revived the declining Izumo Taisha pilgrimage route

Izumo-taisha, which underwent a relocation in 2013. The "Shinmon Street", a pilgrimage route leading to the shrine, was also crowded with people. However, until a few years ago, this was a deserted street with few shops and sparse traffic. Today, however, the number of shops has increased and the number of people coming and going has increased dramatically. Of course, this is due to the various efforts of the local government and the local people. We spoke to the City of Izumo's Community Development Promotion Division about the revitalisation of Shinmon Street, which has attracted attention from other prefectures as a successful example.

"At IZUMONO-en, there is a giant hanging doll which has been certified as a world Guinness record.

IZUMONO-food is not only organic, but also based on the Five Elements philosophy, a natural philosophy that originated in ancient China. They serve colorful dishes based on the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water 🤤!

This time we only ordered coffee, so I couldn't take pictures, but the dishes were very colorful and beautiful.

Isn't it amazing that the coffee also contains ginseng? It had a bit of a Chinese herbal flavor to it, but I really enjoyed it😃.
